A tariff is the financial charge imposed on products imported into the European Union by any country outside the European Union. In the framework of the Common Commercial Policy, the European Union has set as a priority to facilitate the access of European businesses to third country markets by concluding trade agreements with a large number of partners. As a result, there is a mutually favorable tariff treatment between the EU and these countries, with reduction or even exemption of duties.

The EORI number is the unique identification number issued by the competent customs office to any business or other economic operator involved in customs transactions. Once the EORI number is issued, it should be used by the operator in all transactions with the customs authorities of all EU Member States, as a unique identification number.
